  U.S. Census Bureau Releases Population Estimates for Cities in Iowa

  While the nation’s fastest-growing cities continue to be in Sun Belt states, new population estimates show that some of the top gainers are now on the outskirts of metropolitan areas or in rural areas. The release of U.S. Census Bureau July 1, 2023 population estimates for cities and towns reveals geographic shifts in population growth compared to pre-pandemic July 1, 2019, estimates.
