Program Announcement

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has announced the availability of financial assistance for the fiscal year 2003 Mentoring Children of Prisoners Program. The purpose of this program is to make competitive grants to applicants in urban, suburban, rural, and tribal populations with substantial numbers of children of incarcerated parents and to support the establishment and operation of programs to provide mentoring services for these children.

Supporting Data

The Iowa Division of Criminal and Juvenile Justice Planning has prepared a table showing the number of Iowa prisoners with dependents (not necessarily children) and the number of dependents of Iowa prisoners. The table may be downloaded in Adobe Acrobat or Excel by clicking on .pdf or .xls now.
