It's in our hands

2010 census logoThe 2010 U.S. census will define who we are as a state and as a nation. Taken every 10 years, the census affects political representation for each state and directs the allocation of billions of dollars in government funding every year. Achieving a complete and accurate 2010 census in Iowa is in our hands.

What you can do

Your part in the census is as easy as taking 10 minutes to fill out your census form and mail it back. The 2010 census questionnaire is one of the shortest in history and consists of 10 questions. If you want to do more, volunteer to become a census partner and learn the basic facts about the census and encourage others to be counted. Many Iowa communities and diversity groups have formed 2010 census committees--join yours and help spread the word that a complete and accurate 2010 census in Iowa is in our hands.

Join us

A state-wide 2010 Census Iowa Roundtable meets the first Friday of every month for updates on national, state, and local census activities, sharing information, asking questions, and brainstorming new ways to increase Iowans' participation in the census. The Roundtable is open to organizations and groups who know that a complete and accurate 2010 census in Iowa is in our hands.
